A research team in Russia is claiming that it has found evidence of the elusive, hairy biped known as the Yeti (a Bigfoot-like creature) that they say is 95% certain, according to this article. On their official website, they state they found "footprints, a probable den and various markers that Yetis mark their territory with."
However, we have learned from past experience to view such claims with a healthy dose of skepticism. Claims of evidence are one thing; we'd all like to see the evidence and have it examined by other experts.
This claim is already being contested in the Russian press. The Moscow Times writes that "an opposition politician ridiculed the findings on Monday as pure pre-election publicity for United Russia."
So once again, we'll see....
